3vGeomatics, a provider of InSAR technologies, faced significant storage and performance bottlenecks due to the massive scale of its radar image processing. Their existing ZFS server with NFS mounts caused constant system lockups and forced them to implement arbitrary I/O load limits, severely hampering their HPC workflows.
