University of Utah Marriott Library Turns the Page On Unreliable Storage by Deploying QF2

Marriott Library at the University of Utah needed to replace a fragile, budget-constrained homegrown storage system that was failing under the pressure of large-scale digitization and archival workloads. Disk failures, data loss, and downtime were putting its growing digital collections at risk, so the library looked for a more reliable and scalable alternative from Qumulo.

Qumulo deployed four QC208 hybrid storage appliances with SMB, NFS, REST, and Qumulo Care support, giving Marriott Library a modern scale-out storage platform that could grow without disruption. The result was over 400TB of capacity, support for more than 110 million files, and improved performance strong enough to make the cluster primary storage for public digital collections and other workloads, all while staying within budget.
