A Qumulo Case Study
The Global Health Research Organization, a leading health research center studying population health trends and the global burden of disease, was struggling to manage explosive data growth across millions of files. With little visibility into its massive storage environment, the team relied on days-long manual reports to answer basic questions about usage, budgeting, and performance, and needed a better way to scale with petabyte-level research data. Qumulo’s modern scale-out storage and real-time analytics were introduced to solve this challenge.
Qumulo implemented a cluster built on 11 Qumulo QC24 hybrid storage appliances, later expanded with 6 QC208 appliances, plus NFS, REST, and Qumulo Care support. The solution delivered real-time visibility, eliminated manual reporting, simplified archiving decisions, and removed performance bottlenecks, allowing the organization to exceed 120,000 IOPS and support new petabyte-scale initiatives. As a result, the Global Health Research Organization improved forecasting, saved significant IT time, and strengthened its ability to support critical research, with Qumulo explicitly credited for the improved scalability and operational insight.
