A Qumulo Case Study
A leading telecommunications provider was facing the challenge of replacing its aging and unreliable scale-out storage system, which was struggling under the immense volume of machine log data generated by billions of daily connections. The provider needed a modern infrastructure with immense capacity, 100% availability, and extreme performance to support analytics tools, but found its previous vendor's roadmap and a potential object storage solution inadequate for its operational requirements.
The provider implemented Qumulo's File Fabric (QF2) storage system, deploying 40 QC208 and 8 QC24 hybrid appliances. The Qumulo solution delivered the necessary scalable performance, handling daily ingestion of terabytes of data and tens of thousands of IOPS, all at a dramatically lower cost. The results included a successful 30-day migration of nearly 2PB of data, real-time visibility into storage usage, and such high satisfaction that the provider immediately purchased an additional 20 nodes for disaster recovery and plans to standardize on QF2 worldwide.
