Qumulo File Fabric (QF2) Helps Researchers Combat Global Disease

IHME, the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, needed better visibility into its rapidly growing petabyte-scale research storage. Before working with Qumulo and Qumulo File Fabric (QF2), the IT team relied on days- or weeks-long manual reports to understand usage, budgets, and performance across massive datasets.

Qumulo implemented a scalable file storage cluster with 11 QC24 hybrid appliances, later adding 6 QC208 appliances, along with NFS/REST access and Qumulo Care support. The result was real-time analytics, easier forecasting and archiving decisions, simplified operations, and performance beyond 120,000 IOPS, saving IHME significant time and enabling expansion for a new forecasting initiative.
