Lexington Medical Scales Its Imaging Library and Disaster Recovery with Qumulo and HPE

Lexington Medical Center, a leading South Carolina healthcare provider, needed a better way to build and manage a medical imaging repository while improving disaster recovery and reducing the high operational overhead of its storage environment. Before working with Qumulo, the team struggled with poor small-file efficiency, limited analytics, and rising costs as it scaled its imaging library.

Qumulo, working with HPE, implemented a storage solution that improved retrieval of archived radiology images, added visibility into data, and gave the center more flexibility for cloud-based business continuity and disaster recovery. Lexington Medical Center reported about $150,000 in immediate savings, lower CapEx and OpEx, and reduced staffing needs, with radiologists even noticing the faster performance.
