Industrial Brothers Keeps Animation Rolling with Qumulo in the Cloud

Industrial Brothers, a Toronto-based animation studio producing children’s content, faced rapid growth, storage slowdowns, and the sudden need to support remote work when its office closed during COVID-19. The studio had been losing nearly 2,000 labor hours a year to downtime and productivity loss, and needed a scalable file data solution to keep artists working and production deadlines on track. Qumulo’s File Data Platform, used on-prem and then in the cloud, was brought in to address these challenges.

Qumulo helped Industrial Brothers move its creative and production workloads to AWS in under a month, with the pipeline built using Qumulo and Teradici for remote access. The result was zero file-system downtime, recovery of almost 2,000 annual labor hours, and about $80,000 in yearly savings, while Qumulo’s analytics also gave the team real-time visibility into usage and bottlenecks to support future growth.
