Hyundai MOBIS Relies on Qumulo’s Data-Aware Scale-Out NAS in Developing the Future of the Connected Car

Hyundai MOBIS, a global automotive parts supplier, needed a better way to store and manage hundreds of terabytes of real-world video data for autonomous driving research. Its existing scale-up storage was fragmented, costly, and difficult to scale, creating headaches for the IT team as data volumes grew. Qumulo’s modern scale-out storage and Qumulo Care support were chosen to address these challenges.

Qumulo implemented a six-node cluster of QC208 hybrid storage appliances with SMB, NFS, and REST support, giving Hyundai MOBIS a simple, scalable single-volume architecture. The result was more than 600TB of capacity, lower costs through commodity hardware, easier maintenance, real-time analytics visibility, and proactive issue detection. Hyundai MOBIS reported tremendous ROI from time saved and problems eliminated, with Qumulo improving reliability and enabling broader future adoption.
