IIHS, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, needed a better way to manage rapidly growing test data from vehicle research, including huge video files and archival data that was taking too long to retrieve. Before working with Qumulo, the team struggled with slow load times, file retrieval delays, and storage management issues as data volumes kept increasing.

Qumulo provided its scale-out file storage platform with built-in analytics and visibility tools, helping IIHS track storage growth and expand capacity by adding nodes as needed. The result was much easier scaling and a major performance gain: IIHS increased bandwidth from about 600 megabits per second to around 3000 megabits per second, a fivefold improvement.
