A Quip Case Study
Split Pea Seduction, a breakfast and lunch restaurant in SOMA with a catering arm called Jersey Tomatoes, faced challenges coordinating revolving menus, recurring lunch orders, shift schedules and detailed catering events using fragmented methods that didn’t provide shared visibility across the small management team (Christian Noto, Sam Leonard and April Harnett). To address this, they adopted Quip as their central tool for orders, production and project-management documents, and scheduling.
Using Quip’s shared documents, checklists, real‑time editing and in‑document messaging, the team standardized a reusable lunch order form (used by the Quip team for twice‑weekly orders), consolidated production and event plans by job, and opened schedules so staff can make and communicate changes instantly. Quip has made coordination noticeably more efficient—improving visibility across the team, speeding order execution and simplifying catering event management—delivering the operational improvements Split Pea Seduction needed.
