A Quip Case Study
Pop-Up Magazine, a live magazine that stages multidisciplinary stories for audiences, faced the challenge of coordinating a largely remote, ad-hoc team while planning complex shows like their Song Reader Issue (a collaboration with McSweeney’s and Beck). As one of Quip’s earliest customers, Pop-Up used Quip to manage lists, gather ideas from a wide network of contributors, and organize planning without a traditional office.
Quip acted as a digital "whiteboard" where team members could add, comment, sort, and refine material; its mobile app, edit alerts, and "read by" status let editors track changes at a glance. By using Quip, Pop-Up cut down on email, stayed connected while working independently, and streamlined collaboration across contributors.
