Creating Connections: How Path Does Product Development

Path, the team behind the social apps Path and Path Talk, needed a way to keep their highly collaborative, idea-driven product process organized and transparent across design, engineering, and product. After trying multiple tools, Path adopted Quip as their daily wiki and productivity suite to publicize the roadmap, build product specs, and coordinate launches while preserving an open culture of brainstorming.

Quip became Path’s centralized “source of truth”: the whole company is organized in a single shared Quip folder, the roadmap is a collaborative Quip spreadsheet, and reusable Quip templates power specs and launch documents (including minute-by-minute launch checklists). By consolidating tools down to Slack for real-time chat, Quip for documentation, and Red Pen for mock review, Quip helped Path streamline ownership, visibility, and cross-team coordination for releases like Path 4.3 and Talk 1.3.1, and has served as their main archive and planning platform for over a year.
