Case Study: Amaru Confections achieves streamlined time tracking and faster payroll with QuickBooks

A QuickBooks Case Study

How the right tools are game-changers for women-owned businesses

Amaru Confections is a Boise bakery owned by Kathie Luna, who bought the business at 24 and now manages a team of five while scaling operations and maintaining product quality. Her main challenge was running day‑to‑day operations efficiently—tracking employee hours, managing schedules and deliveries, and running payroll—so she could focus on growing the business and hiring the right people.

To solve this, Amaru adopted QuickBooks Time and ADP: employees use a kiosk and mobile app (with GPS) to clock in, view schedules and track routes, and hours transfer directly into ADP for payroll. The tools cut payroll processing to under 15 minutes, improved scheduling and delivery visibility, streamlined time tracking, and gave Kathie the operational clarity needed to support growth.
