RedMart - Customer Case Study

RedMart is a Singapore online grocery founded in 2011 that has grown to about 180 employees and rapidly captured market share by focusing on convenience. Early on the company faced unreliable suppliers and poor outsourced deliveries that threatened first-time customer experiences and limited scale, plus the added complexity of high SKUs per order and plans to move into fresh food.

To solve this RedMart brought inventory and last-mile delivery in-house (founders started delivering, now a fleet of ~20 vans and 3 trucks), built a Delivery Buddy app and route-optimization tools, and implemented warehouse algorithms including wave picking (boosting picking efficiency ~50%). They also strengthened supplier relationships (cash-on-delivery, co-funded promotions) and hired experienced talent. The result: fewer failed deliveries, real-time delivery metrics, higher capacity and efficiency, better conversion through wider selection, and a scalable operations platform to support expansion into fresh and broader SEA eCommerce.
