Pilot Coffee Roasters - Customer Case Study

Pilot Coffee Roasters is a Toronto-based specialty coffee roaster and retailer that sources beans through Direct Trade and operates primarily as a wholesale business with three retail outlets. As demand grew, their made-to-order model and reliance on email orders forced a logistics team member to spend excessive time manually collecting orders and scheduling roasts, creating bottlenecks and limiting scalability.

They implemented TradeGecko’s B2B eCommerce platform (with Shopify and Xero integrations) to centralize inventory, CRM and order processing. The system automates pick lists and roasting schedules, keeps product lists up to date, and streamlines wholesale ordering—saving about 2–3 hours per day, efficiently handling up to 50 daily orders, and improving customer convenience and internal operations (with most customers adopting the online ordering smoothly).
