A Quickbase Case Study
CCI Systems, an employee-owned telecommunications engineering firm founded in 1955 in Iron Mountain, Michigan, was struggling with slow, error-prone project intake and quality-control processes that relied on spreadsheets and email. The company needed a customizable workflow to track costs, materials, instructions, employee skills, QC data and customer feedback, and to replace cumbersome manual job-entry methods.
CCI built Quickbase apps—starting with a project entry app in six weeks and later a linked quality-control app—using citizen developers working closely with IT for governance. The apps automated job entry, consolidated QC data, and enabled real-time dashboards; within 17 months weekly job entries grew fivefold and entry time dropped from minutes to seconds, FPY tracking became timely and accurate (a 4% FPY gain year-over-year), and managers gained clearer insights for training and improved customer-facing reporting.
