Granola Manufacturer Gets CRM in Stellar Shape with QuickBase

Galaxy Granola, a San Rafael maker of applesauce‑baked granola sold in major chains, grew from about 100 to 2,000 stores in three years but was hampered by one‑dimensional Excel spreadsheets. The small ownership team couldn’t cross‑reference customer, inventory and sales data, struggled to schedule and track in‑store demos, and spent excessive time managing spreadsheets without remote access.

They built a custom Quick Base online database (CRM, purchase‑order and scheduling modules) in two weeks to get multi‑dimensional views, streamline demo logistics, and access data on the road. As a result Galaxy scaled 20x without new hires, increased demos to as many as 200 per month, cut data‑management time dramatically (Winter’s weekly time fell from ~10 to 5 hours), saved roughly 40 hours per week overall and about $50,000 a year, and can now track demo ROI and sales performance.
