Kino.dk, Denmark’s largest movie ticket seller and a hub for film-related content, faced major scalability challenges during blockbuster presales. Its site and integrated ticketing and payment systems could handle normal traffic, but traffic spikes during presales were far beyond capacity, putting revenue and partner trust at risk.

To solve this, Kino implemented Queue-it’s virtual waiting room solution, which could be set up in just 5–10 minutes before each presale. With Queue-it, Kino successfully ran more than two dozen presales, avoided costly server over-scaling, protected revenue, and improved the customer experience with a branded queue page featuring trailers and teaser content.
