A Queue-it Case Study
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) needed to handle heavy demand for the World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, where 30,000 race numbers were expected to sell quickly and risk overloading the website. To avoid crashes during the ticket sale, the organization turned to Queue-it and its virtual waiting room solution.
Queue-it placed excess buyers into a virtual queue until the IAAF site had capacity to let them back in. This created a smooth purchase experience for users, and the first 20,000 starting numbers sold out in a single day without website glitches, thanks to Queue-it.
