Aarhus University, a modern European university in Denmark with more than 40,000 students and 11,000 employees, faced recurring admissions traffic spikes that overloaded its online self-service system. To manage the surge in users—especially when large numbers of students tried to confirm their applications at the same time—it turned to Queue-it and its virtual waiting room solution.

Queue-it offloaded excess visitors into a queue page that controlled traffic flow back to the admissions system as capacity became available, helping prevent slow response times and system failures. The result was a smoother registration experience and a successful way to handle extreme peak demand; Aarhus University reported that would-be overload attempts were effectively neutralized by being placed “in a neat queue.”
