A Questys Case Study
Questys partnered with the County of Monterey Auditor/Controller’s Office to solve a growing records management problem: the office relied on room-length file cabinets, boxed archives and manual searches that made filing and retrieval slow, error-prone and storage-intensive. Routine document requests required time-consuming, “as time permitted” searches through desks and files, creating delays and inefficiencies.
In January 2003 the county implemented Questys’ Document Management Solution along with LegisStream, WorkStream and Questys Web (8 scan stations, 40 authoring stations, 25 workflow and 90 search licenses). The system made records easy to scan, search and route, cutting storage needs, reducing research time, improving retrieval accuracy and lowering labor and costs — outcomes that prompted interest in expanding the solution countywide.
