City of Kenora - Customer Case Study

The City of Kenora, Ontario (pop. 16,000) faced mountains of paper records stored in building basements and off-site locations, making document retrieval slow and unreliable. Their prior computerized system relied on keyword searches that often failed, and the city needed a more secure, efficient way to organize and access records.

After issuing an RFP, Kenora selected Questys (installed by Winnipeg dealer Mancomit in August 1999) for its strong security, full‑text search, fast retrieval and ease of use. The system made the city virtually paperless except for permanent records, greatly improved records management and staff productivity, and earned high praise for both the product and support—with plans to expand into Operations and Accounts Payable as budgets allow.
