Using Survey Data to Dynamically Generate Certificates of Participation for Continuing Education Credits

Beckman Coulter, a global developer and manufacturer of biomedical testing systems, needed a faster way to provide technicians with proof of continuing education participation after webinars and training events. To replace the manual printing and mailing of P.A.C.E. certificates, Beckman Coulter turned to Questionmark’s Open Assessment Platform to capture post-training survey and assessment data and automate certificate delivery.

Questionmark implemented a custom solution on its Open Assessment Platform that stores participant data in special fields, scores assessments into one of eight outcome paths, and passes server variables to an ASP.NET-based PDF generator so attendees can print or save the correct certificates. The Questionmark solution delivered over 4,000 certificates in three months with no personnel cost (paying for the investment within a year), improved anonymous course feedback, and supported Beckman Coulter’s move to Level 2 assessments and online migration of paper tests.
