Using Images in Tests at Wilbur Wright College

Wilbur Wright College, part of the City Colleges of Chicago, needed a way to prepare its Diagnostic Medical Imaging students for online national certification exams and to solve logistical problems with paper-and-pencil tests that required students to view films one at a time on classroom view boxes. Department Chair Dennis M. King selected Questionmark for its ability to incorporate images into online questions so students would be comfortable with the online testing environment and the department could expand and secure its image-based testing.

Questionmark’s platform let Wilbur Wright College embed many images per exam (often 20–25), use drop-downs to ask multiple questions about the same image, meta-tag questions by topic, shuffle items to reduce cheating, and run post-test surveys for feedback. As a result, the department gained testing flexibility and better question management, collects actionable student feedback after each test, and reports high pass rates on national radiography and MRI certification exams attributed in part to using Questionmark’s image-capable testing.
