A Questionmark Case Study
C.R. England, a Salt Lake City–based trucking firm with over 3,500 drivers, more than 2,600 trucks and six driving schools, needed a reliable way to evaluate apprentices who train on the road for 4–6 weeks. Paper-based tests were slow to return, easy to lose or falsify, and costly to analyze, while phone-based testing proved expensive and cumbersome. C.R. England chose Questionmark to manage and analyze its assessments.
Using Questionmark together with middleware from Alpine Media and the fleet’s two-way satellite units, C.R. England issues randomized quiz booklets and has drivers enter answers via the satellite keypad; QMWise automates user creation and test assignment, responses are scored and logged to an SQL database, and trainers use Questionmark’s monitoring and scripted check-call features for live evaluations. Questionmark’s item-analysis and unlimited results storage delivered timely, valid data that revealed gaps (e.g., daily log completion), enabled targeted remediation, scaled to train ~5,000 drivers a year while maintaining a 3,500-driver pool, and removed paper delays and the expense of phone-based systems.
