The Schaeffler Group Bringing Objectivity and Precision to Industrial Certifications

The Schaeffler Group, a global manufacturer of rolling and plain bearings and precision automotive components, needed reliable annual certifications to ensure employees’ knowledge of machinery, blueprints, safety and quality procedures. Previously one-on-one exams given by engineering staff produced inconsistent results and inconvenient testing times. Schaeffler turned to Questionmark assessments (delivered on workplace kiosks and online) to introduce objectivity, consistency and flexible scheduling.

Questionmark implemented job-specific online tests that incorporate scanned blueprints and functional-area questions, with coaching reports and performance exports for targeted training. The solution scaled from one pilot site to three manufacturing plants, with about 700 employees now taking 20–70 question assessments; supervisors are freed from scheduling burdens, overnight testing is eliminated, and managers gain clearer, measurable insight into individual and group weaknesses to focus training. Questionmark’s tools are being expanded into additional skills and support areas.
