A Questionmark Case Study
Santa Fe Community College (SFCC), which serves about 14,500 students, faced slow, paper-based course evaluations that ate into instruction time and left instructors waiting up to three months for results. To improve placement testing and course/faculty evaluations—especially in gatekeeper and distance-education classes—SFCC adopted Questionmark in 2004 and integrated it with its WebCT LMS using the Questionmark WebCT Connector.
By moving assessments online with Questionmark, SFCC delivers immediate reports and more candid, specific student feedback while protecting confidentiality; instructors no longer wait months to see evaluation data. Questionmark’s item-analysis, survey and transcript reports helped the college improve question quality, save money and staff time, and identify actionable issues (for example, when ~30% of students rate a textbook poorly); SFCC is now expanding Questionmark campus-wide.
