Preparing Nursing Students for National Board Examinations

Western New Mexico University faced the challenge of preparing its nursing students for the computerized Nursing Board accreditation exam while managing a diverse, mostly rural student body and an expanding online course load. To mirror the Board exam format and avoid surprises for students, WNMU turned to Questionmark for electronic test delivery and assessment management.

Questionmark provided an electronic delivery system and shared, topic-organized question banks used in proctored exams (administered four days a week over a 16-week term for 65 nursing students). Faculty use Questionmark’s item analysis and question statistics to refine items, resulting in faster, more reliable test delivery, secure and easy question management, and better-prepared students for the national exam; WNMU reports the system is running smoothly and will continue using Questionmark.
