OnDemand Testing Saves Medical School Time and Money

Florida State University College of Medicine faced rising costs and logistical complexity running pencil‑and‑paper exams—about $80,000 a year for full‑color photos and exam books—across its main campus and six regional sites while trying to deliver NBME‑style assessments consistently. After evaluating options, the college selected Questionmark to move from paper to computer‑based testing and to standardize secure, image‑rich multiple‑choice exams across campuses.

The college first installed Questionmark in‑house and then migrated to Questionmark OnDemand, the vendor’s SSAE‑16‑audited SaaS test delivery, with Questionmark Secure on student laptops and proctored wireless testing. Questionmark’s delivery and reporting tools (Coaching and Item Analysis reports) enabled essentially all exams to go online, eliminated costly full‑color printing (about $80,000 annually), freed local IT staff from server maintenance, improved uptime (>99%), and provided faster vendor support and stronger test security.
