Idaho Power - Customer Case Study

Idaho Power, which serves much of Idaho and parts of Oregon and Nevada, needed a reliable way to deliver blended apprenticeship training to its largely field-based workforce of about 1,800 employees. The Methods and Materials team required online testing that could scale to 300–400 test events per week, integrate with their LMS, and replace an earlier computerized-testing system that suffered frequent outages and couldn’t pass data to the LMS—so they selected Questionmark as their electronic assessment vendor.

Questionmark was implemented to deliver tests directly through Idaho Power’s LMS, providing seamless launch, centralized question banking, multiple question formats (from simple T/F to animated essay items), and LMS reporting so coordinators and managers can track completion and training history. The solution supports weekly question updates, helps identify problems in assessments, saved substantial time compared with hard-copy testing, and now handles the utility’s heavy testing load (300–400 events/week) while remaining unobtrusive to end users.
