Florida International University’s - Medical School finds Solutions in Questionmark

Florida International University’s College of Medicine, a new public medical school in South Florida, needed an assessment management system to deliver secure electronic exams and generate meaningful analysis to shape a modern curriculum. After evaluating options, FIU selected Questionmark for its Secure Browser and robust reporting tools to prevent cheating and provide the data needed to evaluate and improve test items.

Questionmark was implemented in April 2009 and launched with the school in August 2009; Questionmark’s platform and customized item banks now support evaluations, quizzes and course exams across three to four concurrent courses. FIU uses Questionmark’s item analysis and reporting to identify weak questions, rewrite tests and strengthen the curriculum, and to collect course and supervisor evaluations (current survey response is about 30% with plans to increase it via social networks), demonstrating measurable improvements in assessment quality and program oversight.
