A Questionmark Case Study
Eastern Washington University (EWU) needed a way to deliver in-class testing, polling, streaming audio/video and larger informal surveys without scheduling computer labs or issuing laptops to every student. Working with Questionmark, EWU piloted a Mobile Wireless Classroom of 30 Pocket PCs to provide mobile assessments across courses from freshman composition to senior-level psychology and film.
Questionmark supplied the browser-based assessment platform (Questionmark Server, delivery templates and authoring wizards) so students could take multiple-choice, true/false, short-essay and polling activities on handhelds with low-bandwidth formatting. The solution delivered immediate, anonymous feedback (replacing days-long paper turnaround), helped instructors quickly pinpoint learning gaps, boosted faculty adoption across disciplines, and provided a portable, cost-effective alternative to laptops.
