A Questionmark Case Study

Certifying Usability Analysts in Web Design and Other Skills

Human Factors International (HFI), a firm specializing in user-centered design training and certification, needed a practical, scalable way to test Certified Usability Analyst candidates around the world. To deliver its two-year certification program and ensure consistent assessment across diverse learners, HFI chose Questionmark to host and administer its certification exam.

Questionmark implemented a hosted testing solution using four item banks to generate unique 100-question multiple-choice exams (70 correct required to pass), authenticated diplomas, and a free one-time retake within six months. HFI uses Questionmark’s Question Statistics feature to monitor pass/fail rates by question and section to ensure uniform difficulty; candidates report the interface is strong, HFI calls the approach cost-effective, and the program’s success has led HFI to plan an advanced certification.
