micros Systems (MICROS‑Fidelio), a global leader in hospitality IT serving hotels and restaurants worldwide, needed a way to objectively assess and certify staff and customers on product knowledge while cutting the time and cost of paper‑based testing. To address this, the company adopted Questionmark’s online assessment software in 1998 to replace manual exams and formalize regional certification programs for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Using Questionmark, micros Systems moved to 24/7 online delivery for 10 internal certifications, 26 customer assessments and academy course evaluations, with about 630 employees and 540 customers taking tests. Shared repositories, drag‑and‑drop item management and automated email notifications streamlined authoring and administration, while Questionmark’s Coaching, Grade Book, Assessment Overview and Question Statistics reports gave trainers measurable insight into individual skills—reducing administration time and costs, improving flexibility for test takers, and enabling plans for more certifications and LMS integration.
