Aquis Exchange (SIX Group), a pan-European financial exchange, needed a way to capture every order, trade, and infrastructure metric in real time for exchange-wide surveillance, monitoring, and latency reporting. The challenge was to ingest market events at very high speed while keeping queries fast enough for operational alerts and real-time analysis.

QuestDB provided the time series database behind Aquis Exchange’s surveillance and monitoring stack, with low-latency ingestion, SQL analytics, and PostgreSQL wire-protocol compatibility for Grafana. With QuestDB, Aquis could compute live order-book aggregation and transaction analysis, join time-series and relational data, and store infrastructure and business metrics in one place, improving real-time visibility and lowering storage costs through compressed Parquet and object storage tiering.
