University manages patching, version control, software deployment and scripting, with full asset reporting

The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) manages about 1,500 Windows devices and faced a major Windows upgrade and large-scale deployment. It needed accurate asset inventory and a fast, reliable way to migrate hundreds of endpoints while streamlining patching, version control, software deployment and scripting across a distributed manufacturing environment.

The AMRC used the KACE Systems Deployment Appliance for the migration and the KACE Systems Management Appliance for ongoing patching, imaging, scripting and reporting. The solution accelerated image building and deployment, simplified patch management, enabled large-scale scripted configuration, provided full auditing and customizable reports, and saved the IT team significant time while scaling reliably as the estate grew.
