Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, a pioneering integrated health and social care provider in England with over 6,500 staff, faced a major compliance and security gap when clinicians and staff used PST files to work around strict 4GB mailbox limits and long government retention mandates. Those dispersed, often corrupted PSTs were invisible to eDiscovery, backup and protection processes, putting business continuity and patient data at risk.
Working with Quest and its PST Flight Deck service, the trust automatically discovered and migrated 5.5TB of PST data into Microsoft 365 in just six months. The project recovered hidden files, repaired corrupted PSTs where needed, preserved data fidelity, freed the internal IT team to focus on user training and communications, and cut the planned timeline in half.
