Swedish Council Enjoys Secure User Authentication

Vallentuna kommun, a Swedish municipality serving about 30,000 residents and managing IT for some 2,500 employees and 5,000 students, needed secure, Active Directory–based single sign-on that verified AD identities against its HR system and national social‑security/tax databases. The council also wanted to eliminate the security risk from manual deprovisioning and avoid expensive custom development or bulky vendor solutions.

Using One Identity Active Roles, Vallentuna automated provisioning, synchronization and automatic deprovisioning between AD, HR and government systems, enabling AD‑based SSO with strengthened identity verification. The rollout took hours instead of weeks—reducing integration time by as much as 87–95%—eliminating manual account cleanups, improving security and delivering significant cost and time savings.
