St. Joseph Regional Health Center, part of St. Joseph Health System, needed to upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2007 while managing nearly four terabytes of email, replacing unsustainable tape-based backups and meeting HIPAA and litigation-driven retention requirements. The team also wanted an email archiving approach that would be simple for a small IT staff and transparent to end users.

Quest, using Archive Manager for Exchange, helped St. Joseph centralize, retain, and manage email lifecycle policies while keeping access seamless in Outlook and Outlook Web Access. The results included backups cut in half, daily tape-handling reduced from about two hours to 5–10 minutes, faster eDiscovery and restores, and easier compliance management across more than 4,000 users.
