Super Selectos, El Salvador’s largest supermarket chain (98 stores, 3,300 employees), was facing rapid 10% annual growth and mounting point-of-sale and database data (about 22TB) while relying on an aging tape-based backup system. Backups ran only once a week, required long monitoring windows, and put the company at risk of losing a week’s worth of business data and incurring significant costs.

The company implemented the Quest DR4100 disk backup appliance with in-line compression and deduplication and automated backup monitoring.
