A Quest Case Study
Nottingham Trent University, a UK higher-education institution with about 3,500 staff and 30,000 students, needed to replace a resource‑intensive legacy identity management system. Manual processes and complex role bundles (more than 50 staff user groups) caused delays, repeated service‑desk calls and deprovisioning problems that limited service quality and drove up costs.
The university deployed One Identity’s Identity Manager with partner Intragen to automate provisioning, enable self‑service password resets and implement fool‑proof deprovisioning. Accounts are now created at enrolment for instant access to email and applications, staff and students can reset passwords themselves, and IT resourcing for identity management has been reduced by 66%, improving both security and the student experience.
