Premier Farnell, a UK-based global distributor of electronics components with nine distribution centers and local transactional websites in 46 countries, needed to keep regional e-commerce sites synchronized with its central Oracle Exadata data stores so customers always see up-to-date order history. The company’s environment spans four production and 20 non-production Exadata databases across Europe, North America and Asia‑Pacific and includes mixed Oracle versions, creating a requirement for near‑real‑time, reliable replication without operational disruption.

Premier Farnell deployed SharePlex to continuously replicate a selected subset of about 20 Oracle tables (including order history) between the central store and regional data stores, bi‑directionally and across different Oracle/Exadata versions. The solution provided transparent, nearly real‑time synchronization, automated resynchronization after network interruptions, reliable replication across four production and 20 non‑production databases, and returned the investment within one year.
