Case Study: Miami-Dade County achieves streamlined database administration and improved citizen services with Quest Toad

A Quest Case Study

Preview of the Miami-Dade County Case Study

County Enhances Critical Services For Citizens

Miami‑Dade County, home to nearly 2.5 million residents, delivers a wide range of citizen services supported by diverse back‑end databases (IDMS, DB2, SQL Server, Oracle) managed by a 21‑person DBA team. The county needed faster troubleshooting, streamlined routine administration and more intuitive development tools to keep mission‑critical systems available and responsive to internal users and residents.

To address this, Miami‑Dade deployed Quest’s Toad for Oracle and Toad for SQL Server, enabling DBAs and developers to accelerate management tasks, speed schema comparisons, create scripts and debug missing objects, and produce reports up to five times faster. The result was improved database availability and developer productivity, tangible service enhancements for citizens, and strong internal demand for additional Toad licenses.
