Bell Canada, the country’s largest communications company, needed to strengthen cybersecurity and ensure rapid recovery for its mainly on‑premises IT environment. With a primary Active Directory domain housing about 105,000 user accounts (and consolidation of ~30 additional domains underway), Bell found native tools and manual processes inadequate for monitoring changes, detecting suspicious activity, and restoring AD after a cyber incident or disaster.

Bell deployed Quest Change Auditor (including Logon Activity) and Quest Recovery Manager for AD to gain deep visibility into changes, logons and configuration drift and to automate forest recovery. The tools let Bell quickly spot and revert risky changes, eliminate weak protocols like NTLM v1 and RC4, remove unneeded GPOs to shrink the attack surface, speed troubleshooting, and reduce AD recovery time to a few hours—while simplifying coordination and providing vital cyber‑resilience insurance.
