GENILINK, a 45‑employee French IT solutions provider for automotive inspection and leasing clients (part of the SGS Group), was struggling with exponential data growth that left parts of its critical transportation systems data unprotected. Their legacy Arcserve/tape setup could only back up 500 GB at a time, generated more than 50 daily backup reports to review, slowed system performance, and drove up storage costs and risk.

GENILINK implemented NetVault Backup with Quest DR4300 deduplication appliances (deployed by Talc SI) to protect its entire environment — roughly 60 VMs, 10 physical servers and about 4 TB of data. Deduplication freed significant storage and eliminated tapes; backups are now 100% faster, admins spend 80% less time checking reports, recoverability and security improved, and overall data protection is simplified with lower TCO.
