NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), a 5,300‑employee public healthcare agency supporting Scotland’s NHS, needed to eliminate Active Directory (AD) downtime that could disrupt clinical and support services. After witnessing another health board suffer a multi-day AD outage and finding their existing backup tool failed to cover critical items like Group Policy and DNS, NSS sought a faster, more reliable AD backup and recovery solution.
NSS deployed Quest Recovery Manager to enable granular restore of AD objects and rapid full-domain/forest recovery from a central console. The tool lets the team quickly roll back deleted objects, Group Policy and DNS, saves about three weeks of IT effort each year, supports compliance and safer change management, and provides the confidence to recover rapidly in a disaster.
