Case Study: Boiron achieves high availability, faster BI and major cost savings with Quest SharePlex

A Quest Case Study

Boiron heals data availability and BI pains with Quest SharePlex

Boiron, the global leader in homeopathic medicines operating in 50+ countries with 3,000 employees, relied on Oracle Standard Edition databases to run critical operations. Faced with a mandate to meet a four-hour RTO, reduce heavy reporting loads on production systems and avoid the prohibitive cost of upgrading to Oracle Enterprise Edition, Boiron needed a cost-effective, high-availability solution that could also support disaster recovery and BI workloads.

Boiron implemented Quest SharePlex for real-time replication compatible with Oracle SE, deploying six primary and six replicated Oracle 19c databases with typical latency under five minutes (and as low as 30 seconds). SharePlex offloaded reporting to replicated systems, restored performance, met the four-hour RTO, and saved significant licensing costs versus an EE upgrade — delivering reliable, near‑real‑time data, strong support, and measurable long-term ROI.
