Quanum EHR mobility and reporting functions bring added efficiencies to MI practice

Kinachtchouk and Kinachtchouk MDs, a husband-and-wife internal medicine practice in Saginaw, Michigan, needed to move from paper charts to electronic health records in 2012 to meet Medicare regulatory requirements and avoid potential penalties. The practice was already using Quest Diagnostics’ Quanum eLabs and ePrescribing tools, and looked to Quest Diagnostics’ Quanum EHR to support a smoother transition.

Quest Diagnostics implemented Quanum EHR, with the practice converting charts gradually during annual physicals and customizing clinical templates and patient flow tools to fit its workflow. The results included improved mobility for accessing records on smartphones and tablets, stronger reporting for Meaningful Use and Patient-Centered Medical Home efforts, and better workflow visibility; the practice also used audit features to track and correct errors, helping support more efficient, evidence-based care.
