MetroWest Accountable Health Care Organization, a physician hospital organization affiliated with MetroWest Medical Center, needed an affordable, patient-centered EHR for small practices that would be easy to implement, minimize workflow disruption, and allow shared access to clinical data across its network. Quest Diagnostics implemented Care360 EHR, a web-based solution with anywhere, anytime access and support for sharing lab, radiology, notes, and clinical documents across facilities. The rollout was fast, with average implementation in less than 30 days and most offices transitioning from paper in about four weeks. By 2010, 100 physicians across 40 facilities had adopted the system, completing 76,000 electronic prescriptions, uploading 174,000 clinical documents, and creating 120,000 SOAP notes in a 12-month period.
