Massachusetts practice adopts Quanum EHR

Dr. Arthur Bregoli’s internal medicine practice in Braintree, Massachusetts, needed to move from paper charts to electronic health records in 2011 to meet Medicare regulatory and incentive program requirements. With 20 patients seen per day and about 30% of them Medicare patients, the office wanted a system that would help avoid penalties while fitting an already established workflow. Quest Diagnostics provided the Quanum eLabs and ePrescribing tools the practice was already using, making the transition to Quanum EHR a logical next step.

Quest Diagnostics implemented Quanum EHR, allowing patient lab information from Quest to transfer automatically into the new records system and reducing the need to create new files. The cloud-based system also let Dr. Bregoli access charts from a tablet in the office or a laptop from home, while staff built templates to simplify common visits. The practice successfully used the data to support meaningful use attestation three times, and office staff reported faster chart retrieval, easier record sharing, and greater overall efficiency.
